Once upon a time in a country far away lived a mighty King. He had three beautiful daughters. The youngest was still a little girl; the oldest was a bit past the age for marriage, while the middle one was just the right age for that. The Queen was constantly reminding the King:

“Let’s get our daughter or at least the oldest one to marry, before it’s too late”

But the King, busy managing the country, always postponed that, saying:

The days passed while one Sunday the King, the Queen and the Princesses were to have lunch.

They were served watermelon for desert. But when they cut it they were disappointed to find out that the watermelon was overripe. The King said to the Queen:

“I think you were right about our daughters. If this watermelon was picked up a week ago it would have been just right to eat. I guess there is a right time for everything.”

The King sent heralds all over the world, he ordered them to go as far as they could and proclaim that the King invites prospective candidates to marry his daughters. Many Princes, Merchants, Warriors and

Heroes asked to marry the two older sisters and soon the two Princesses choose their future husbands. No one proposed to the youngest Princess, because they considered her too young to marry. Still after some time there was someone, who wanted to marry her. Her parents thought that he was a bit strange, but the youngest princess liked him anyway. He arrived one day after all the other candidates had already gone back to their countries and excused himself that he was coming from far away and that is why he was late. His carriage was all black with while bats, painted on its sides. It was pulled by three white and three black horses. The carriage was driven by two green men dressed in silk. It was moving fast, without any noise, as if it was gliding in they air, above the ground. The young man, who came out of the carriage, was dressed in silk and velvet……....
