Long
time ago the Fox and the Hedgehog were very good friends. They were always
together. If you see one of them then the other wouldn't be far away. One day
the Fox said to the Hedgehog:
"Let's go eat some grapes."
"I like grapes," said the Hedgehog. "They are so juicy and
sweet, but what if the man, guarding the vineyard catches us?"
"Don't worry, my friend," said the Fox. "I know one hundred
and one tricks, one better then the other, if we get caught, I will find a
way to get us out of it. Don't you know any tricks?"
"I know only three," said the Hedgehog. "I know they are
good, but I am saving them for when I really need them."
"OK. Let's go then," said the Fox. So they went to the vineyard.
The Hedgehog was still afraid to go too far inside and that's why he
carefully took some grapes from the end row, near the fence, but the Fox went
bravely towards the middle of the vineyard, where the best grapes were and
soon got caught in a trap.
"Hedgehog, help me!" cried the Fox.
The Hedgehog came quickly
tried to open the steel trap but couldn’t. Then he said:
“But dear Fox, you told me you know one hundred and one tricks, can’t you
get yourself out of this mess.”
“No, I suddenly forgot them all,” said the Fox. “Please, help me!”
“OK” said the Hedgehog hesitantly. “I know only three tricks, but I will
